I can’t promise a steady return to my blogging life. But I do miss it, believe it or not. Purely by coincidence (ahum) I started snooping around online and found some rockin’ bits and pieces from the usual suspects. For my fellow music geeks: You’ll find some hints to my musical influences if you look closely.

When I was visiting New York I had the luxury of time to visit some incredible shops in Manhattan. One of my favourite shops is Anthropologie. This is a store chain spread through the USA and Canada. They sell a large variety of unique, vintage-like items, from clothes to home deco and furniture. There aren’t any shops anywhere else, as far as I know. So all I can say is.. thank goodness for online stores!

If you think of a great place to live wouldn’t an all-American bungalow, including a porch and the works, be on your list? It’s on mine for sure!

Jessica and Erik from Portland, Oregon bought a 1920s bungalow earlier this year and have been renovating for a fair few months. What’s interesting is that their keen eye for vintage details helped them draw a line between what needed to be stripped, fixed or preserved. This resulted in a very delicate balance between the old and the new, blending the two seamlessly together and making for a warm and welcome home. Here are a few before and after pictures:

Designer Tithi Kutchamuch thought he could prolong the lives of throwaway items like a stirrer, pen cap, egg box and plastic spoon by casting them in silver. What a lovely idea! See more of his designs over here.
